Muffin Break Opens at High Wycombe

London-based entrepreneurs Hermat, Ramesh M and Ramesh opened the doors to a brand new Muffin Break at Eden Shopping Centre, High Wycombe.

Despite the economic downturn the group of friends, who currently run a small chain of newsagents in London, are expanding their business out into High Wycombe.  They made the decision to come to High Wycombe as they felt it was a town experiencing growth and prosperity, especially with the opening of the Eden Shopping Centre last year.

Ramesh is delighted to be expanding his business into High Wycombe: “Muffin Break provides great fresh food for real value, so I’m confident the people of High Wycombe will flood in once they smell those Muffins cooking first thing in the morning!”

Muffin Break's Best Barista '09

Nottingham’s Anna Drzyster takes out the title

Here at Muffin Break we take coffee making very seriously, which is why we launched a nationwide competition to find Muffin Break's Best Barista! Over the past few weeks Muffin Break coffee experts visited each store to put the nominated Barista's through their coffee making paces.

27 Baristas were whittled down to just 5, congratulations to all our regional finalists:

Natalie Smith - Droitwich

Matt Streeter – Redditch

Ross Dreghorn – East Kilbride

Margaret Scott – Grimsby

The final was held at Leicester Shopping Centre last Thursday, September  10, where the finalists showed off their barista skills to impress a panel  of expert judges, including former World Barista Judge Jeremy Regan. After the judges deliberation, the title of Muffin Break’s Best Barista 2009 was awarded to Nottingham contestant Anna Drzyster.

Anna was thrilled to be awarded the prize: ‘I want to say a huge thanks to everyone who voted for and supported me. I’m really honoured to be awarded the title. I honestly never expected to win, I was happy just to show the judges how much I love coffee. The coffee maker is absolutely amazing. I always say with every cup of coffee I make I add my own special ingredient - my smile, but now I think every cup is going to come with a huge grin – I just can’t stop smiling!’
