You may have seen Muffin Break’s range of gluten free muffins in store and wondered what they are and who they’re suitable for. Well our gluten free muffins were specially designed for people who need to avoid gluten in their diet, but anyone who likes a tasty muffin can also enjoy them.

What is gluten?

Gluten is a protein found in certain grains including wheat, oats, rye, barley, spelt and triticale.  Any foods that contain these grains, or ingredients made from them, will contain gluten.  This means that most regular breads, breakfast cereals, biscuits, bakery foods and crispbreads contain gluten, as well as many other packaged foods in the supermarket. At Muffin Break, we use corn and rice flour to make sure there’s no gluten in our special gluten free muffins.

Who should eat gluten free food?

Gluten free foods can be eaten by anyone, however some people need to avoid gluten in their diet for health reasons.  For these people, eating a gluten free diet is essential for maintaining good health and wellbeing.

At Muffin Break, we use special ingredients and follow strict procedures in our stores to make sure that our gluten free fruity, indulgent and gourmet savoury muffins stay exactly as they are meant to be - free from gluten.

If you have other special dietary needs, such as if you need to avoid dairy, soy or nuts for instance, our Muffin Break staff have a directory of which products are free from these allergens in each store.
